The President focused on an array of issues from the global pandemic, the rapid pace of reforms in Uzbekistan since 2016, the fight for human rights, gender equality, ending corruption, and implementing economic reforms. He closed the speech proposing the next General Assembly focus on ending poverty, a foundational element in achieving the UN's SGD goals.

Cotton reform

One of the most successful areas of reform for the Republic of Uzbekistan has been privatization of cotton production through the introduction of “Cotton Clusters.” This has contributed directly to the eradication of systemic forced labor in the Uzbekistan cotton harvest.
